Cerce (sert-zay) are a powerviolence influenced/infused, female-fronted, hardcore band out of Boston. If you haven’t heard them, do it now. (Seriously stop reading this review and go check it out). It seems futile to attempt to describe Cerce’s sound without you actually hearing it, but here we go:
These tunes will knock you on your ass. Between the riffage, pounding drums, and the almost constant shrieking feedback, you’re in for a wild ride. Add on top of this Becca’s unapologetically feminine vocals, and punk rock ethos based firmly in feminism, Cerce delivers a unrelenting, unforgiving onslaught of a 7” that is fighting it’s way to the top of my list for 2012.
